2026 HCC Club Playdowns - Men's & Women's Curling Club Championships
HCC Club Playdowns for the Men's and Women's Curling Club Championships representative.
Jan 16- Jan 18, 2026 at Halifax Curling Club. No entry fee.
Draw pending the number of teams registered. Deadline for entry is Dec 16, 11:30pm.
One entry per team.
Winners to play in NS provincial curling club championships. NS Men's Championship Mar 4-8, 2026 at Lakeshore CC. NS Women's Championship Mar 26-29, 2026 at Sydney CC. There is an entry fee of $400 to enter provincials.

HCC Winter Junior Program 2026
A junior curling program open to beginner-level curlers with 0-2 yrs experience.
Age: 8-15 years
Length: 7 weeks
Time: Sundays, 8:30am-10:00am
Dates: Jan 25, Feb 1, Feb 15, Feb 22, Mar 8, Mar 15, Mar 22 (No session Feb 8 or Mar 1)
Cost: $122.81+HST
Max 32 participants. First-time curlers or those returning with slightly more experience will be grouped accordingly. Coaches will tailor the sessions to the group's experience level.
Equipment required:
- CSA approved helmets are mandatory and are not provided.
- Indoor gym sneakers
- All other equipment provided
PAYMENT: Payment may be made online with credit card when registering.
CANCELLATION POLICY: Withdrawals from the program will be fully refunded up to Jan 16, 2026. For program withdrawals after this time, fees paid may be used as a non-transferable credit toward a learn to curl program within the following calendar year. No refunds will be issued after Jan 16.
Adult Learn To Curl Winter 2026
7-Week Beginner Program for Adults (18+)
- Sundays 10:30am - 12:30pm. Dates are Jan 25, Feb 1, Feb 15, Feb 22, Mar 8, Mar 15, Mar 22 (no session Feb 8, Mar 1)
- Cost: $175/person + HST
- Equipment: Clean, indoor gym sneakers.
No experience necessary. Helmets are optional (not provided). All other equipment (brooms, stabilizers, grippers) are available for use at the club.
The first few sessions will focus on basic individual instruction including delivery and sweeping. Later sessions will focus on team play, strategy, and game etiquette.
Rock Delivery Methods
There are two methods of delivering (throwing) the curling stone – with a slide or a stick. More information can be found below. Our coaches will be able to provide instruction on both delivery methods. Please indicate preferred delivery method when registering. You will have the option to change during the sessions, but it gives the instructors an idea of numbers so they can best plan the lessons.
