The Halifax Curling Club hosts 2 8-Week Beginner Programs for Adults per season - beginning in October & January. Join us and learn a new skill this year!

For those looking to try curling for just one quick session, please contact the club about private instruction.

Here is a bit of general information about what to expect of our Learn to Curl programs:

    • Sundays 11:15am - 1:15pm. Dates TBD.
    • Cost: TBD.
    • Equipment required: Clean, indoor gym sneakers.

No experience necessary. Helmets are optional (not provided). All other equipment (brooms, stabilizers, grippers) are available for use at the club.

First few sessions will focus on basic individual instruction including delivery and sweeping. Later sessions will focus on team play, strategy, and game etiquette. This 8 week program prepares beginners to join in on league play the following season.

    Rock Delivery Methods

There are two methods of delivering (throwing) the curling stone – with a slide or a stick. More information can be found below. Our coaches will be able to provide instruction on both delivery methods. Please indicate preferred delivery method when registering. You will have the option to change during the sessions, but it gives the instructors an idea of numbers so they can best plan the lessons.
