    The Halifax Curling Club is excited to host the 4th annual Stu Sells 1824 Halifax Classic Men’s event on November 10-14th 2021.

    NEW this year, we are proud to be expanding the event with the addition of the Stu Sells 1824 Halifax Classic Women’s event from November 11-14th, 2021.

    The Halifax Curling Club is the oldest continuously operating club in Canada (founded in 1824) and has been home to some of the top curlers in Canada, including Colleen Jones. Our top-quality ice and hospitality have attracted strong fields to this event from across Canada and internationally, including defending champion Team Gushue and past Champion Team Howard.

    We welcome you to come enjoy our great ice, warm East Coast hospitality and all that Halifax has to offer!

    • 16 team triple knockout – 8 qualifiers
    • 8 End Games. First draw Wednesday morning at 9:30, Final Sunday at 1 pm

    • Entry Fee: $1,000
    • 12 team round robin – 3 pools of 4 – Top 2 qualifiers from each pool. Playoff ranking will be W/L record then draw to the button scores. 1 tiebreaker game if necessary.
    • 8 End Games. First draw Thursday morning at 9:30, Final Sunday at 4 pm

    Registration / Payment

    • Registration and payment deadline is July 31, 2021
      • Post-dated cheque is the preferred method of payment.
        • Please make cheque payable to Halifax Curling Club, and send to 948 South Bland Street, Halifax, NS, B3H 2S5. Cheques should be post-dated for September 15, 2021.
        • Email money transfers will also be accepted and can be sent to This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it..
      • Other forms of payment will be accepted with a non-refundable $50 CDN administrative fee.
      • After September 15th, any team that withdraws will automatically forfeit their entry fee.
    • Entries will be confirmed by August 15, 2021. The selection committee will notify all teams if they are accepted or not. Team selection will be based on a combination of CTRS/WCTR points as well as a select number of spots reserved for Atlantic teams.

    Event results will be submitted for CTRS/WCTR points.

    *Covid-19 – if the event is unable to run due to Public Health restrictions related to the Covid-19 pandemic, full refunds will be issued to registered teams.
