Mike Seifert is an avid pickleball player who fell in love with the game and quickly advanced his  skill level through long hours of practice and drills on the courts.   Under the tutelage of Brooke Siver, IPTPA Master Teaching Professional, Mike then turned his energies toward helping others work on their game.  Though the support of Mr. Siver and Manta World Sport, Mike was offered an opportunity to teach the game of pickleball and attain his instructor certification through the International Pickleball Teaching Professional Association (IPTPA).  During a year long cross country tour of Canada, for the Canada 150celebrations in 2017, Mike gained valuable experience teaching pickleball, from coast to coast.

It was during this period of time, when Mikes passion for instructing pickleball became readily apparent.  Perhaps this should not have been unexpected.  This is because, Mike brings a tremendous amount of experience from the world of professional and amateur soccer, to the game of pickleball. His experience with instructing and training in a sport contexthas helped him develop his skills quickly and transition into the role of a pickleball instructor naturally.  It is not by chance, that Mr.Seifert has become an effective instructor.  Mike hadperviously been instrumental in the development of soccer referees in Alberta, while working as an international soccer referee (FIFA Referee) in matches around the world for the Canadian Soccer Association, for 14 years.  While no longer involved in the beautiful game, Mike left his mark on the soccer landscape. During his FIFA refereeing tenure, he also served as President of the Alberta Soccer Referee Association and President of the Calgary District Soccer Referee Association. He was also a National Assessor and National Instructor and has played a key role in developing the Indoor Soccer Rules of Play for the Alberta Soccer Association. Mike has been the recipient of the Alberta Soccer Association's Golden Whistle Award, the Alberta Centennial Award in Sport and is an inductee in the Alberta Sports Hall of Fame. He has also received several National Referee Awards. Mike has touched the lives of many in the soccer community and is a most deserving recipient of an Honoured Athletic Leaders Award, presented to 50 influential individuals who have made an impact in sport in Alberta in the last 50 years.

Mike has now moved totally away from soccer and is fully invested in pickleball.  He continues to work on his game, not only to improve as a player, but to also become a better instructor.  Mike is always willing to pass along the information he has learned, to ensure the game of pickleball, and the players who play it, grow and develop in a responsible manner.  He is committed to working with individual players, as well as formal and informal groups across the country.
